White-tailed spiders are now becoming extremely common throughout NZ, often found under bark, rocks, leaf litter, in household clothing, gardening gloves etc as they don’t have a web or nest. The toxicity of their bite depends on the type of spider that they have been eating. Its bite is reputed to cause serious inflammation and sometimes causes a flesh eating wound.

Did You Know?
that the Daddy Long legs has one of the most toxic venoms but because its mandibles are so small, they can't bite us. Now that's great news!
